A theoretical question

I know movement rules are different in Scotland but if one took a few sheep in a trailer to an event at which they were the sole livestock. Let them out into a pen for an hour, loaded them and returned to the original holding would said event need a holding number. The whole process will take less than an hour and the sheep will be in transpo for less than an hour each way. I hav searched the Scottish Gov website and can’t find any info on events or rest stops etc so your help would be much appreciated even if it’s who would need to be contacted to get the necessary info.

There is probably nothing in the regulations which covers how ' a sheep magical-mystery tour' should be recorded.

There is on the English forms but not on the Scottish ones but I assume it’s the same, mine they have 13 day standstill but Rams are exempt

Heard about someone from somewhere who knew somebody that took 3 pet lambs to a primary school to stand in a pen for the kids to look at , rumour has it no tags no paperwork no problem

Best to have a wee holding field up your sleeve, registered with the department. But l know tups are OK.

So, you were moving your sheep from one part of your holding to another part of same holding, had a mechanical breakdown en route and let them out for an hour for welfare reasons, right?

I wouldn’t raise paperwork for an intra holding movement.

Because I couldn’t work out why in England it’s as simple as ticking a box but in Scotland you have to get assigned a holding number for a car park which will never ever be needed again and it takes six weeks. It just seemed like we were being given a story to put us off, but it would seem not by the answers on here hence I called in a few favours and we now have a holding number for a car park

Perhaps so but if you had been straight in the first post you would have got more straight answers. And getting involved in that guff to begin with wtf , when your their ask them how much carbon their little get together at our expense has cost in ££ and carbon realised.

They are going half an hour down the road, I’m just helping arrange it, mind maybe the should be flown in by helicopter like the rest of the over blown muppets

And who are they going to be seen by? As I wrote, everyone who lives in Glasgow can see cattle and sheep in the city parks. Seems a waste of time to me (as does all of COP)

It’s more than a waste of time , it’s a bloody disgrace they are taking the p iss the lot of them.

If you’re going to COP26, tie some binder twine round your ankles. Apparently the place is hoaching with rats between the fly tipping and the bin mens strike, which is now ‘resolved’ but will take a magic wand to fix.
