Calor gas bottles or lpg

we are rearing pheasants from day olds to release and using calor gas bottles (47 kg) using around 90 bottles a season running heat lamps. My question is can we go to a lpg tank and run it to the individual sheds which would work out a lot cheaper. Would be interested if anyone has done this? Apologies if in wrong section.

That's like 4.5 tonnes of gas, must be cheaper with a bulk tank, we had 9 sheds piped from a pair of tanks, furthest distance approx 100 metres, originally done in galvanised pipe, later replaced with MDPE.

Google ' Bulk Lpg supply' see what's available in your area, Calor obviously the biggest, but there are others out there. Shell mex and BP gases used to be the big player in the country, but pulled out some years ago.

Depends on you set up really, if your sheds are static and don’t get moved then it is quite simple subject to proximity to each other, but if you move them onto fresh ground or take them down for storage then I wouldn’t bother, Flo gas are about £50 a bottle del for 1 the last time we had some, but there would be better deals about

Ye had someone out to advise we do move them so will be staying with bottles flogas seem about the best but who knows what price next season.

there is a big shoot locally and 47kg propane are used so I don't know for sure but I would think they get a good deal... 4 years ago a local guy had serious life changing burns when there was explosion when he lit gas
