Calving cameras and wifi etc

After some advice from anyone with a bit of wifi and camera knowledge. I know nothing about the subject so please be gentle and spell things out! I’ve got wifi and internet in the house. The bulk of the farm yard is across the other side of a main road, this has no mobile signal or wifi but has electricity in all the buildings, what I’m after is swivel and zoom calving camera in the main shed which I can view on my mobile phone whilst away, with a view of when costs allow and if results are good , then maybe fitting 3 more similar cameras in the future. I’m also told that I can transmit the house wifi signal into the farm yard at the same time which would be a bonus but not essential. I have good unobstructed line of sight between house and main building, I don’t want anything with SIM cards and top ups etc. I’ve seen some firms charging an annual fee?? I’m not to struck on this if it can be avoided, anyone got some info, knowledge, advice or suggestions? I’d like to the work myself and have good electrical knowledge bus not to slick on a computer etc , cheers

Not cheap but the camera is excellent quality and the wifi bridge works perfectly.

Plug one bridge into your router and fix to the side of your house. The other mount to a barn, near power and connect to a 4 or 8 port switch then you can add as many cameras as you like.

That looks the business, have you set one up? And is there an annual fee as it implies there is but not sure? Cheers

Yes, I put that kit up last year. You really want to make up your own Cat5 cables, which is a bit of a fiddle but easy enough apart from that.

No fee and there is an app you can use on your phone anywhere you can access the internet.

Can read the number plate from my wife’s car parked 60m away in the dark.

Dyfed plates....

I’ve got 1 of these recently and just ordered another - few weeks wait though.

These were both taken in darkness, ewe would be 25ft, the thumbs up from 37-40ft.

the shed has 1 bar of phone signal so it was taking 15 minutes to scan the shed on SIM card. I had a WiFi booster for next door ontop of the shed and so I asked the company if I could have a PAYG system installed from January-April, they turned the boosting(unusable) WiFi into useable WiFi and then installed a Ethernet cable to the camera, I can now scan the whole shed within 30 seconds 👍🏻 There is also a microphone on this one, the girl working with me said my kids were shouting Hi to her this morning through it 😂

Job to justify some of these dear setups , I got 3 , £35 cams , you can see what's going on , and the main idea is to see if anything is lambing /calving , and you can see that ok , then you know its worth getting out of bed to sort things , leave cheap LED light on if you got electric on site and job done .
Also put a booster on top of house for £60 to reach the cams .

The company that did my Ethernet said they do one they buy in at £280, charge a lot more than that out for it and he said my £80 was as good a quality.

Are all these cheaper cameras the ones that need SIM cards and credit ? Plus a mobile signal to work? If so it’s a non started as there is absolutely no phone signal anywhere near the yard, all texts and missed calls come through when I leave at the end of the day !

WiFi and Ethernet and SIM card on the 1 I’ve got, in the rare occasion that WiFi goes down it will go back to the SIM card. Electric keeps tripping in my shed in wet weather so now I know electric is off as camera won’t load on WiFi or SIM card - not the cameras fault but new electrics are ultra sensitive to dampness

Get your wireless bridge across the road, a phone that supports wifi calling & all those calls & texts will come straight in

I thought the top pic was a pen of pigs and the bottom an intruder holding a knife.

I’m already on wifi calling in the house and it works a treat after years of no signal at all, do I just need the wifi bridge or anything else at the shed end? Cheers
The unit at the shed will have a setting so it gives a wifi signal . Fit it high up as possible for good coverage while still having clear line of sight to your house bridge unit. . Ours is good for about 100metres.
If you can not get it in a position where it gives you good wifi coverage it`s simple to run a cat5 cable from the bridge unit to a wifi access point unit placed at a suitable point
