Is it a calf for your replacement or a beef animal as I wouldn’t ever keep one who had pneumonia for replacements when I first came to this farm nearly every time you checked a problem cows history it started with pneumonia as a calf

In my experience if they have bad pneumonia like your calf and they do recover they will do average at best then around 8-12 months later die for no apparent reason despite looking fit and healthy. If it is not standing then more than likley it will need putting to sleep if things don't change in a few days.

Once they go down I ring the Knackerman. Very rare they get going properly afterwards and are very likely too die in the next 12 months. First loss is the best one and it’s not fair on the Animal too struggle along for 12 months with knackered lungs
