Rates relief and loans looks like ?
Tell self employed to claim universal credits ,6 weeks to process if eligible applicants???
Goodness who the 366 billions will help ,guess NOT the one's most needing ???
It will help those who are best at form filling I would think. An industry to lighten the wallets of those in need by doing the paperwork for them will quickly emerge I would think.

More than likely the loans will go to large businesses that don't need them and the businesses that need them wont see anything.

Never a good idea to do it thru the banks, they were given billions to help small/ medium businesses thru the aftermath of 2008 and look what happened, most of it either went to very large businesses and the rest was used by the banks to play the stockmarket/ shore up their balance sheets and when they were pulled up 2 or so years later why the money didn't go to the businesses it was intended for they said it was because there was no demand for the money from them even thou the internet/media were awash of story's from businesses that had applied for the cash but were turned down by the banks.

Quickest/ easiest/ fairest way to get funds into farming businesses would be to use the BPS bank system as they have all the bank details already logged on there.

We already get money for nothing with BPS!

This is a total different kettle of fish.

Within days thousands of farming businesses may be unable to sell their livestock for several months, if that happens it will have massive implications for cashflow and welfare of the stock on these farms.

Unlike a arable farm a livestock farm cannot just shut the door and do nothing for a few months.

No one could have foreseen the impending situation for livestock farms and if you did then I suggest you go and buy some lottery tickets whilst you still are allowed out of your house!

Not clear what part of a farmers business would be affected by advice to the public not to frequent certain businesses, pubs and restaurants mainly. How has your business profitability been hit by Corvid19 in the short term?
Pretty much all my sales are into those kind of places. This week I had one tiny order that was so small it would lose me money by delivering it. They've since cancelled.
So I have no sales and no real prospect of any either.
I am very fortunate as I have other money so will be fine, I doubt my customers will be though.
