Can a texel tup start throwing a big head.

I’ve used the same tup for 4 if not 5 lambings and this year the ewes are having trouble giving birth, it’s like this year the lambs heads are a lot broader than previous. All the ewes have lambed before and are pure Dorset’s same as previous just this year I’m have issues. Can it be he’s throwing big heads now he’s older???

His genes are just the same as they were in previous years. If it's the same ewes, have you altered your feeding anyhow?
Are some of your pure Dorsets by a different tup?

If he hasn’t thrown this over the last 4-5 years, and his genes obviously have not changed...

Then as yellow belly says, it will be an environmental/management issue causing the problem and not to do with the tup.

So nutrition ie feeding, ewes being over fit, lack of something, ewes indoors earlier and lambs not being presented right and thus producing a more swollen looking head.

Buy your self a good rouge ram, cracking lambs ,great kill out , and never any landing problems, you'll never use anything else.
