As above, don't have a spare to swap in (without raiding a machine) and would rather not have the fence off if i can avoid it.
Thoughts?

Shirley he shouldnt be doing that ? Is there a fault with him maybe [emoji848]I will counter that opinion a little bit as one of our fencers will give you a bite off the positive terminal and I wouldn’t want that going in a fancy charger. Something old school will surely take the abuse!

Is that not a sign of inadequate earthing?
Or pop down to the nearest car breakers and £10 later get a nice spare car battery so you have one on rotation.
Just park one of your machines next to the fencer and connect the fencer to the battery on board whilst you take the fencer battery and recharge it.
I run a fencer and an old Zetor off of identical batteries, so, I just pull Zetor up along side fencer, swap batteries whilst tractor still running and drive off again. No battery charger involved. Take care and make sure you disconnect earth strap on tractor first and reconnect it last.
If you have been doing that a while then fair enough but I would of thought there is a risk of damaging the alternator doing that, unless you are talking of a dynamo tractor?
Fair enough.
Maybe on something a bit more modern.
The old Zetor seems almost indestructible though.
Interesting post.... I've often left the tractor or pickup running with the jump leads connected to a fencer battery to put some charge back into it while I walk around the stock. I've never thought about the alternator. If you have been doing that a while then fair enough but I would of thought there is a risk of damaging the alternator doing that, unless you are talking of a dynamo tractor?
