I have been asked if i can provide dead lambs for snakes to eat.
I'm happy to sell them but I'm not sure the legalities.
as the person doesnt have a cph I cant do movement licences
they are not technically waste as they are sold so shouldn't need waste transfer licence
does anyone know if i can do this or who i have to ask.

I would try your Animal Health office or Trading Standards. I am sure they would be interested in coming round to give you some advice. Failing that phone Rural Payments.

To be strictly correct, I think you will find there is a lot of red tape, but it can be done! Dead lambs will (I am guessing) be classified as animal by products that must be disposed of to a registered outlet. The snake owner will also have to be registered to feed animal by products to his snakes, so he would have to become a registered outlet. Do a search on the DEFRA site for "animal by products".

I used to know my way around these regulations fairly well because I was feeding by products out of the back door of local abattoirs to my dogs. Registered kennels are included along with packs of hounds, zoos, maggot factories, etc.! They may want to inspect both premises and reassure themselves that the lambs are not ending up in the local Chinese.... All essential red tape in case there is another outbreak of foot and mouth. Frankly, I doubt it's worth the hassle.
