After sanding machinery back to bare metal what had the correct primer to use? I see there is epoxy primer and etch primer recommended but don't know what I should be using? What I actually have in stock is a tin of upol 182 primer.

It will be sparex paint going on the top coats but which primers should go underneat and in what order??

Also should hardeners be used?

Not really a fan of Sparex paint for a shiny finish but they’re primer is quite good and is of a thickish consistency so covers well and you can cheat and use it as a bit of filler primer aswel. You’re secret as with everything is going to be preparation. You need the metal perfectly clean and then warm to sweat out. Any machine once you’ve sanded down etc needs a serious steam clean and TFR (non wax type) wash down. You should be ok with your primer just don’t skimp on the top coats, minimum three coats.
