As title, what is this? Dosing with Tribex yesterday and quite a few ewes showing, probably over 10%. These were all mature ewes. Had dosed a batch of ewe lambs earlier and no sign of any lessions on them.
If It is orf, does it seems strange that its on the ewes and not lambs? Its not something that i see often. I dont scabivax and hope it doesnt appear in lambs next year. How best to treat it?

We have exactly the same thing in a few of our ewes at the minute. I reckon it is orf alright. Ewes are in a thistlely field and likely where it's come from. Doesn't seem to bother them. I used caster oil to clear it up on a few rams we were selling recently but I think I'll just stick a salt block in with the ewes to keep it from getting too nasty.

Yes it's orf imo just as others have said. I've seen much worse and I wouldn't be too concerned at this stage. Might be worth putting some salt licks out though.

If it's just the odd one put some antiseptic spray on it, it'll recover well, if it's bad do it again when their next in too and it'll clear it up.

Looks like orf to me too. Personally, I’d just let it run it’s course if it doesn’t get any worse than that. It won’t be more than a mild irritation to them and at least they’ll develop some natural immunity to it now, so it shouldn’t give any bother after lambing.

Be careful when handling, don't forget it's zoonotic.

Fortunately I was able to convince the wife there is no risk of human - human contagion, or I'd be sleeping in the kennels for the next month!

I've got one of those and no orf anywhere obvious in the flock.

In the picture, I've also got blood poisoning which was working its way up my arm pretty jolly fast resulting in an emergency (hour and a half round trip) to the out of hours doctor and quadruple doses of one of the few abs I can take with the threat of iv if it didn't stop it's gallop b the morning!!! I convinced myself it had. I really thought it was spreadable from human to human although mine has barely wept at all.
