You certainly would not need teeth to cut asparagus
Asparagus knives I have seen are third round , like a 3/4”pipe split and sharpened at the base.
The whole is about 2 foot long including handle.
However looking online there seems a huge range of knives used for the job

Tis the traditional knife used by Evesham asparagus growers amongst others. Traditionally when you cut asparagus half the spear should be from below ground and the stem is quite fibrous at that depth. A very sharp tool is required or one with a serrated edge. Note that the asparagus is grown in traditional steeply ridged rows which make a better product than modern methods growing on the flat (see below) but requires more care in cutting.
