We have a field which had a lot of bracken and gorse on it. We've cut the bracken and gorse hard so that the grass is coming back.

The single farm payments on the field haven't been very high because of the bracken and gorse.

Can the field be reclassified for payment and if so what's the best way of going about it?

Yes, but you will likely trigger an inspection from RPW. That's what I was told when I asked about changing some 'tracks' (ineligible) to 'grazed tracks' (eligible), which they clearly are and have photos to prove it. As it was ultimately a small area, I decided to put it on the back burner, and use it as leverage when/if we get an inspection anyway.

To get that response, all I did was change the crop code on the SFP paperwork one May.
