Canal and Rivers Trust proposals -re water use

Just wondered if anyone has had any dealings with the Trust lately?

We have had an approach ,linked into fencing off watercourses , and would be grateful to hear the view of others ,who have had conversations or whatever ,on this subject?
Probably best to Pm me at the minute ,if you dont mind .
Thanks

Have they come up with a way yet to supply enough water to a herd of cows who tend to want to drink all at once on a hot summers day ? Are they going to clear or pay to clear all fallen or likely to fall trees before you fence it? Can you use pig netting or just 2-3 strands of barbed wire? Can you use creosote posts?

I've had dealings with STW and used the STEPS scheme to fence of a watercourse and a river. No real issues in the fencing.

Watering is now down to a solar pumped system which was not plain sailing.

You need a BIG solar panel for charging and work on double the capacity of charging and storage of water. that you will be told is suitable. Winter time is a problem...

We are promised water troughs ,piping ,maybe funding if you can get it , but the Trust rep suggested we pay towards the water for any additional troughs (as we have an access aggrement and dont get charged for the rental any more since early 2000's . The rental was little enough but the proposed trough rate for made me smart a bit !! There was a suggestion they were going to talk to the NFU
