Can't get rid of rats

Tried rat poison (cubes and pellets), they still come back everytime. It seems like there is a never ending chain of them. Any tips?
I gave up trying to contol rats when they collected all the poison bags(the ones that look like a tea bag ) and used them to to make nests in the stored fertiliser . I now pay the local council vermin control sevice and never see a rat or any damage caused by them . Try the council it may be cheaper than you think.

I make my own bait bags using vinyl milking gloves. Might take them a few days to trust them, but then they think they've got a prize and drag it off. This has been out 2 days, but they trust it enough to walk over it (note the dirty footprints) The gloves look a bit gory I suppose!!

Got one of these on a run at back of calf shed (minus rat) Spurs you on to keep filling it when you can see the little buggers dropping it (y)
And keep picking a few off with the air rifle :)
And get a Bongo

You might well be getting rid of the rats, but at this time of year they are all coming in looking for a winter home. I'm getting through a hundredweight of bait every fortnight. Found 6 dead rats in the last week though.

This time of year you seem to get rats, rats and more rats. All you can do is keep feeding them as often as possible. If they're taking the poison then you're bound to be doing plenty of good. I've been through 15kg at least in the last 2 months and it's still going.

Rat pack with smokers, terriers, whippets, stickers, stompers and whackers. We cleared hundreds and hundreds out of each poultry shed on a turkey farm. Then keep on top of them with a few cats, fenn traps set in tunnels along runs. Cage traps or other rat traps, look on google. ;) Someone with an airgun and a lamp / night vision to mop up. You can use a punctured tin of tuna or cat food, liquidised food that the rat can not pick up and run off with or an apple tied down to hold the rats still in one place so you can shoot the blighters.
