Why are you paying £780 for a pair of wooden gates that will warp n twist when they dry out and the nails will rust n snap in the next 18months when you can get a pair of 12ft galvanised including hindges and spring catch for less than £150

As part of putting together a mid tier application but I want to widen the gateways rather than be stuck with Something I can’t get the combine through. Landlord wants wooden
I think they only pay for one gate, from memory any gates we have done on grant work the farmer has had to pay extra for a double gate

Priced galvanised gates from Paxtons a couple of weeks ago after we had 7 wooden gates smashed by poachers, 12ft £69 14ft £83 inc fittings, boss likes wooden but personally I think we should be putting in a pair of 14ft galvanised in all new gateways now with machinery getting bigger, cheaper, lighter, easier to hang, adjustable after they're hung, stronger, the only thing yes they don't look as good as a nice new pair of level wooden gates, but they don't stay like that very long 😞

No wonder your not a fan of wooden gates, at that price they will be made from match sticks and glued together
