Carbon Credits what value ?

If a carbon production tax was introduced it would invariably put a floor in the carbon credit market and put those that manage land in a very strong position until tech finds a way of dealing with co2 emissions more efficiently/ cheaper..

I have invested heavily in dairy recently but if an opportunity arrives that means I can make more money from carbon farming I will take it very seriously...Indeed as an organic dairy farmer it should be part of my everyday job..!
...but you must still use carbon credits to produce your milk. Otherwise you run the risk of letting all your Carbon go to town and find yourself with none left for your own production.

all will become clearer in time, it's a 'new' concept, that looks as if farmers can benefit from. I don't think there is an agreed mechanism, to actually 'measure' carbon yet, until that very basic requirement, it's all 'pie in the sky', it all needs careful looking at.

Just what is the real value of Carbon Credits ?
Not suggesting this is the market value of carbon credits, but perhaps the real value is £600 per tn of CO2 .
A radio 4 item on global warming suggested we need to extract CO2 mechanically from the air and store it somehow, the current cost of this being £600 / tn the speaker suggested.

"Climate change: IPCC scientists say it's 'now or never' to limit warming

Keeping temperatures down will require machines to remove CO2 directly from the atmosphere.
This is very contentious as the technology is new and currently very expensive."

Yesterday's IPCC report talks about $300/T for CCS but I've not heard of anyone doing it robustly for anywhere near that money......
