Carbon filters for tractor cabs

I'm a pretty light and irregular sprayer user, but have just been out putting Pastor on some spring reseeding with a heavy dock infestation. I was using a JD 30 series with the cab sealed and the aircon on, but the smell of spray in the cab was very noticeable. As the cab was closed up and the aircon generally slightly pressurises it, I can only conclude it was being sucked in through the (ordinary type) cab filters.

I'm aware there are carbon filters available for spraying, but I've never even bothered to price them because I was under the impression they were a) very expensive and b) had a very limited life. Can any of the more sprayer savvy members tell me if that is the case, and if so, is it feasible to have a set of carbon filters to fit to the tractor just for spraying, then remove and seal them in a plastic bag until next time?

i used to fix a plasic over the intake filters to stop the air from outside coming in then turn on the aircon. the air got changed when the doors were opened when filling the sprayer. always worked fine. did try carbon filters once and wasn't impressed.

Expensive, but worth it if you are working with chemicals most of the year.
Oh abssolutely, I won't spray without. dealer chucked mine away once at a service, found out when I was taking them out when I'd done spraying for the season!!!!!!!!! Been using ordinary paper filters all year, not impressed. I made them replace the carbon filters.

Pastor use on reseeds is now a no no

News to me. What's the reason for that as I've never had an issue using it in the past? I went into the local branch of a major agricultural merchants, told them what I wanted to do and that's what they gave me. It was only at 2l/ha half rate with intention of revisiting in the backend.

The irony is not lost that there's a discussion here about filters for spraying and on other threads there are people getting their knickers in a twist about the glyphosate vote because 'it's so safe'.

Was stopped many years ago, maybe your local supplier hasn't caught up yet but that is his responsibility in advising and yours to read the label thoroughly no matter what you are told.
