i love how farmers expect development and facilitation of a new markets or services that offers to pay them money they would be never have had ……… for free

yet the same farmers are happy to pay land agents and auction commissions, 30% plus on their crop protection and fert inputs etc and let grain merchants take a % on every sale they make

Who said anyone was happy about it? And in any case, in those instances something physical is actually changing hands for the money.

if the extra € 4-28 is spent on facilitation of positive change it‘s not greenwash imo

an airline will never be carbon neutral through cutting emissions so the next best contribution they can make is to spend profits on helping sequestration



fuel and fertilisers can be massively reduced on arable farms IF farming via certain systems is viable - cash from Carbon sales is what could make that viable for more

It isn’t positive change though is it? It’s conscience salving/box ticking.

If you run someone over and kill them, you don’t get off with it if you’ve got a child you could use to “offset” the death.

The carbon credits could be a nice earner, but the whole ideology behind it is flawed.

Growers of root veg for example haven’t a hope of being judged carbon positive due to cultivations for example. Yet the produce is healthier than say wheat that goes into flour then on into cakes, biscuits, batter on fried food etc.

So it will be a nice earner for those who can crack direct drilling continuous cereals, it takes little account of existing, healthy, well managed grassland and if you grow veg don’t even think about it.

From a population health point of view it supports the wrong outputs.
