Sad isn't it that our agricultural colleges are still pedalling reductionist thinking onto our future farmers and land managers .
Where-as the reductionist thinking used to be all about production and specialisation to maximise output of particular sectors, the thinking now takes the view that there is an emerging market that the industry must grasp at all costs.

@Sarah_Meredith why not take a step back and think of carbon as a bank account for the farmer that doesn't have a financial value () but actually has an ecological value that gives the farmer a more resilliant landscape to work with in the future. Farmland that doesn't require inputs,, but will still continue to produce an income, produce food and above all gives the farmer complete control over their business without handing it over to some consultancy working for a corporate.
