  • jp get him trained not to press on the cab roofs when brumming , saves a few bent axles and cab roofs
There's a Ford 4000 and a Sekura cabbed 135 and a Shawnee Pool lower link carried dump trailer but he's not having them yet

Over 40 cattle, 30 sheep and fifteen pigs. Not counting the horses as there will always be too many and I'm going to say they were my brothers anyway

There are three buildings all were made by my Dad. The Atcost barn still has a Dyno tape strip along the leading gable beams "JP for quality dairy and store cattle" - circa 1970 - ever the salesman!

How many of us started out our farming careers on the carpet? I remember 40 yrs ago ploughing what to me then 100,s of acres of carpet and practicing future foraging skills (there was a time when you dragged trailers behind the chopper)weaving in and out of table legs and modifying stuff ,got a DX 110 in my special chest in the loft with triple wheels front and back.

were into siku remote control now saves the knee,s

two jd,s 6920 fendt with loader , and 8430 crawler ,
just making an umbilical pipe for injector boom which has come off a joskin tanker , tried some 3mm air hose but bit springy ,so trying some thin 2 core wire , 2 jd,s will bring slurry to nurse tank then pump connected to umbilical .
had some pics on other forum ,will have to put some up of the collection

I've got a huge collection of Britain's toys from the late 80's and 90's which I used to farm hundreds of carpet acre with.the living room was always my home farm and the hallway was my contract Farm. they're all on shelves in our games Room just waiting for my two year old to be old enough to appreciate them and not smash them to bits hopefully he might hire his old man in at busy times to cart Lego or roll the rug.
I had a lucky touch at our local saleroom last week a big box which included 25 modern siku,Ertl and Britains for £50.had a bit of a job to convince the wife they were for the littleun when daddy got Home and lined them all out along the sofa.

My father in law has built a farm on a board for my 3yr olds Xmas. I will post pics when it appears but he has been working in it since June and I'm told it looks real tidy.

Has anyone seen the prices these old britains make on eBay. Looks like you got a good bargain Robbie

Glad my Dad didn't sell mine!

Here we are; as much as I try to lead things by starting with the animals, my 2 and a half year old lit up with the machinery

Bit of history with some of this lot !

Used to take all the cabs off all mine so I could steer. Reckon plenty of us learnt to reverse trailers whilst carpet farming. I know my 7yo has. :) Not much interest in the real thing though, hey ho, so long as he's happy.

I also used to save the string from paper sacks to tie down my loads of bales. Wonder how I managed to tie such fiddly knots now!
