Carraro front axle

Hi
I'm replacing the oil seal in the front axle on my 5150, the seal where the drive shaft exits the axle housing and enters the hub. While I'm there I want to replace the bush in the end of the axle, how do I go about getting the old bush out? Seems like I should need a tool that fits through the bush and can then expand to be able to draw the bush out.

Thanks

if you don't have a blind bearing extraction set its not too hard to get a strong washer the size of the bush to be pulled out and grind a flat at either side and weld a nut on the back ,slot it in the hole side on and pull it up behind the bush and either screw a slide hammer or wind it out using a bit of threaded rod

edit ,welding a bit of wire to hold the washer so you can screw a rod in to it helps if room is tight

We remove needle bearing outer shells in blind holes by making a close tolerance pin to fit inside, filling the hole with grease, put pin in and sharp slap with a hammer, hydraulics it out. Granted we have a lathe here but another option for you. HM

good idea in principle but tolerance would need to be down to micrometers for that ?

Got it out ok,although it did take quite a bit to shift it.
Like defender suggested got a heavy washer the exact size and buffed two sides off it, then welded nut on the back and used threaded bar to screw it out.
Thanks for you help guys

No actually - I often used to do this having whittled a piece of hardwood to fit! You'll get a bit of grease extruded as well if the fit isn't good, but it works well. These days I have a lathe so whittling isn't necessary(y)
