Carrs billington north branch

anybody else having problems with Carrs billington ? A young farming couple bit behind with there accounts offering to pay and catch up etc. There trying to take them to the cleaners. There talking about going to the press etc.
It won’t be a good look for such a big company profile if they do put them out of business.

If the couple are only a bit behind and repaying Carrs back is going to put them out of business then I would say Carrs is doing the right thing to get their money before someone else demands a bit for an essential repair etc. Sounds brutal but on the information you are providing I would say Carrs are doing the right thing.

I think there is more to this.
Sometimes we haven't had the money to pay all at once and pay what we can. Never caused any issues, from what I can gather from carrs people a lot of people owe them a lot of money anyone trying to pay would be welcome unless there is a background issue.

Unfortunately, that's Carrs prerogative. Like has been said maybe there is more to this story. A payment plan is all well and good if the debtor is going to be around long enough to make the payments

The brutal truth is that they have had the goods and should pay for them within the agreed time. If they haven’t the means to pay they shouldn’t have ordered and expect another company to bankroll theirs.
Oh yea?
And what if the young couple were promised payment from a Govt scheme 3 months ago and haven't had it?
What if they have sold stuff to other farmers and they won't pay ?
It works both ways.
In reality IF Carrs are taking a hard line then they will be a fair way in IME, they have tightened up alot but they had developed a reputation for not bothering, which of course attracts people struggling.
And no, it isn't me.

Credit is the scourge of modern business, and should be stopped.

Everyone would adapt by building a cash-pot for the rainy day and leaner times.

Credit attracts bad business practices........

If the couple are behind with Carrs, chances are they are behind with several others.......

The biggest ones though (as in debt) are the big farms, chances are the couple in question are a few k, I have a salesman friend who has dairy men 50k plus in arrears.

Boggy.
Carrs Billington, like all companies when they get over a certain size, have turned into a bunch of r.soles.
I've never had an issue with their credit department, even though I've been way over their normal credit terms at times.
Personally I don't believe that they're not accepting installments, or other special arrangements, but then, maybe they've been bad payers for long time....?

Carrs Billington, the company that, when I was in a bind, regarding a PTO shaft, 20 minutes before closing on a Sat morning, gave me a shaft, and told me "cut off what you need" we will sort it out next week!!?
And didn't even ask for a deposit!?
Now this is the Morpeth (coopies lane) outlet, but, helpful, informative, to a small customer, as I am!? Five stars, every time.

Never had anything to do with machinery side but sounds far more like the Carrs Billington I know.

Has to be more to this story than the OP knows or is letting on. None of anyone else’s business though.

Always had great service from my local Carrs, but then I’m not in arrears with them. We shouldn’t be quick to judge we don’t know the full story. Anyone’s fortunes can turn bad overnight and not through bad management. When Brexit takes hold and BPS payments change hugely so many of us livestock guys could be in the shite.
I don’t think this thread is fair to either party Carrs or their in arrears customer and shouldn’t be discussing it because we know sod all about the background.
