Been having a bit of a head scratcher with a skiddy lately, when the safety bar is dropped to release the handbrake etc the charging light comes on!!!! It will charge perfectly when the bar is up but once down to get the machine working the light comes on and it does NOT charge. Have tested this with a proper voltmeter fitted inline!!!

Have been all along the loom but can't find any damadge, shorting wires. Disconnected the bar switch and looped it, looped the operator present switch and it's still the same.

Don't really want to go down the route of a new cable from cluster to alternator if I can find the real fault. Any one seen anything similar? It must be an earth or earth short problem somewhere that I can't find!!!

There are some Diodes in the loom which will give this problem.
One of the other boys went out to a 410 last week with similar issues. Will ask him where about's the diodes are.
Once found - five minutes with the soldering iron and a new diode and she was away

Hi, thank you. It's very claustrophobic wiring wise under the fuseboard and relays so they either are in there or in the actual cluster. We'll have a look
