Do you have a part number? my 4240 could do with a new starter(still on original).

starter you want is this one. Will send you a price.

Cheap ones at 50 quid on ebay..

These are way bigger than needed. most here are 800-1500 watts. Plug them in at night and leave them on. Also hydraulic tank heaters.

THink the old Kenlowe ones were 2KW, but it was a long time ago. I know I needed a timeswitch that would cope with the load...

If you are just maintaining heat, then lower wattage is sure to be fine. Hydraulic heater would be good too...

I recall the Winter of 1981/2 here, in Shropshire we hit -30C, and on my min/max thermometer, -32C.... so pretty cold. 🥶

I needed a tractor to be going every day, and the Zetor was perfect... it had a massive cab like a greenhouse, and the diesel tank was under the bonnet and 2 parts in the cab. I left the tractor running around the clock, for nearly 2 weeks, with the cab heater going to keep the fuel warm!! To get her started initially, I surrounded the tractor with bales and had a fan heater underneath to warm the block and back axle.... Diesel lines were the worst problem, so the preheated fuel in teh tank was great!
