CASE 5150 Powershift problem

I have a CASE 5150 and a problem with the gears/powershift. The tractor when I start up works fine for a while then all of a sudden when I change the powershift I have no forward gears through the powershift. However I always have a reverse. If I switch the tractor off and leave it for a while the powershift forward gears all work again. Any ideas would be helpfu. Thanks

can almost guarantee it will a pressure switch on the transmission, whenever you select that gear it faults and get no drive. When it happens if you dip the clutch and hold it down, the orange transmission light on the left of the dash will flash, think it's like 5 times.

very common on these tractors, have changed all ours at least once.

I ran the tractor all day yesterday but held it in third gear on the shuttleshift and had no problems. It looks like it has a problems when I go into second gear or when I come out of second gear on the shuttle shift. Does this help identify the problem or make it more confusing?

Will most likely be 2nd gear pressure switch, BUT I will say, we had another 5150 (non pro) that spent it's entire life with no 2nd powershift, tried everything to fix it but eventually gave up and just drove around it (suspected was the clutch pack for that gear but never had time to split it to see). You can set off in 1, and with clutch down, go straight to 3, then release clutch. We drove it like that for 3000+ hours.

If you want to see if it is just the pressure switch, change 2nd with another (4th) and see if the fault moves with it. The switches are on the opposite side of the tractor to the fuel tank, directly below the cab door. Not in a conventional order, top to bottom:

3
1
2
4

It's really fiddly to get them out, especially you if haven't done it before, often easiest to start at the top and work down to the one you want.
