Hi there ,
New to the forum and wonder if anyone can help,
Have father in laws 885XL showing on the gauge as overheating after 8-10 mins of work. Radiator blowing water out of the top.
water coming out of the-cap relief port is stone cold, radiator isn’t over hot but both hoses are warm, engine doesn’t seem overhot. Flushed the radiator and seems to be ok.
changed thermostat and fitted new water pump and radiator cap as I thought I had circulation issues. Didn’t fix, so checked heater matrix and hoses had already been joined together so clearly someone has had a go before. The engine runs so sweet and there’s no contamination or smoke anywhere I just can’t picture it being a head gasket or engine issue. So I am intrigued to know if there is anything I could be missing before diving into the engine, the pressurising of the system and the radiator blowing water out seems to happen at around working temperature and then a minute or so after this thetemperature gauge starts to climb into the red. Hope someone can help! Many thanks in advance.
