Case 895 back pressure

Probably asking the road I know here. Tractor started with some back pressure today blowing a small amount of water out of radiator cap. Suspected head gasket or cracked head. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues. Yard tractor on light duties at the minute. Fan belt not over tight but fan is spinning and water is rusty to say the least. Strange bit is heater blowing cool as if water not circulating as well but that could all tie in. Main hoses under a bit pressure when you squeeze them. I did wonder about thermostat but unlikely

Update I’ve taken thermostat out and tightened fan belt. Still pressuring water probably not as much though. Ran 5 hours yesterday only pushed half a cup full of water out. Big hoses are still under more pressure than they should be. What’s got me a bit is there’s no water circulating when looking into radiator while it’s running even with thermostat out and no water circulating around heater in cab. Unless it’s because system is pressured by head trouble. Wondered if it was water pump issue
