thank you very much got it going thank goodness 50/60 bales to be baled in next few hoursArent the pipes in pairs left to right not up and down?
Also would be a lot better with a free flow return put in to the transmission just below the right back axle in the big plug.
Is that axle bung the same size/thread as filler on the top? I keep thinking of swapping our drilled one around. The oil really should be returned below the oil level of the gear box.
Through the filler plug on top can froth the oil up.
In the older models there is a bung on the right hand side, below the axle on the transmission case.
Drill the bung and return it through there.
1/2” pipe will be fine.
You only have 8 gallons a minute anyway.
Nothing wrong with putting it in the top bung. Done it for yearsThe oil really should be returned below the oil level of the gear box.

No it’s quite a bit bigger. Is that axle bung the same size/thread as filler on the top? I keep thinking of swapping our drilled one around.
Obviously a fitter and not an Engineer !Most tractor returns are above the oil level, fire it in the top bung you’re just asking for leaks putting it below
Run a loader like that on a 585 and 674 for yearsNothing wrong with putting it in the top bung. Done it for years
Sod that crawling about underneath
You are quite correct in that oil should ideally be returned below oil level in the reservoir to avoid aeration and frothing. However he is also correct in saying that most returns these days throw the oil in from above. It isn’t a problem with flow rates of 60 litres a minute or less using UTTO or super universal oil.Obviously a fitter and not an Engineer !
