case 895. No 4WD.

Harrowing tonight and the 4WD stopped working. Think the prop shaft is spinning on the front diff pinion. Any one experienced this before??

It may be spinning at either end. if my memory is correct , it is a simple repair.

Is there a coupler between the two. If there is it will have stripped the splines off the coupler

stripped it down this morning and the shaft is spining on the fwd coupler near the front dif. also a lot of wear on the front diff pinion but its still griping. whats best to do about the pinion and any one know were to get a new propshaft and coupler?? rear coupler is good.

What are the axle pivot bushes etc like for wear? Have they been greased reqularly? If the axle is moving about,you'll have the same problem to fix again in a while. If the pinion is worn,you'll need to replace the crownwheel on the diff as well,as they are a matched set.

Malpas online do couplers

malpas only seem to do the rear coupler not the front one which has a flange on with four bolt holes.
