Case 956/1056xl worthy?

I've noticed an aluminum oil resovoir under the cab and wondered do they have a hydraulic oil cooler or rely on heat dissipition to cool from that tank? Maybe they not upto tipping trailers all day.

Could be right. Always wondered. 674/784 has good pumps. Would bigger ones be OK too? Hand clutch for pto strange Considering smaller ones had ipto

Damn good tractors, nimble six cylinders. The gearshift is old fashioned but it works. The pto may seem unusual but it's affective.

A few years ago now a local spud grower had the full set up of 56 series tractors and they were like showpiece's, immaculate, he traded one of his 1056xl into paxtons 40k front links, the lot, I begged and begged my old man to buy it but no luck.

Drove a 40k 956xl years ago. Lively even with out A turbo. Brakes effective too it seemed

The brakes are very effective, the master cylinder is operated via a brake booster.
Whatever pressure you apply to the brake pedals is tripled at the master cylinder.

They're up to many days work on a wrapper. Our 844 has the same hydraulic system and I wrapped behind 2 balers at times.

They have 2 discs in each axle, the discs are a good size & have a large surface area.

Our 956 does the wrapping. Not a lot to fault them on really, perhaps a bit more tiring to be in all day compared to a more modern tractor .

Wouldn't work on an old Massey anyway, 575 think it was no spools or aux pump.

Of course. Try it on a jd 3650
