Case 956xl tacho drive

Just purchased a new angled drive unit for the tacho that screws into the front of the engine beside the fan pulley. But this seams impossible without removing the fan pully which then involves taking out the radiator, water-pump timing cover etc. This seem a bit excessive, so is there a smart way of doing it?

There might be enough room to loosen the bolts on the fan to let the pulley move forward enough, when I fitted the tacho drive last year I didnt take off the rad.the one I fitted last year the output gear fell out of it,was bought from a case dealer brand new.

Hadn't thought of that. I managed to get the old one out as the threaded part of the angle drive rotated but the new one doesn't, or at least I haven't risked putting so much force on it to find out.
