Regards every day use, is it easy to use.
Any problems ?

Easy to use, jumps between stick&pedal drive seamlessly and vice versa. Only problem we had on our demo 160 Cvx was that while we were mowing it couldn't decide which range to use. That problem doesn't concern the 170cvx ---> since they have two more ranges (or something like that, i tested it out also and it did work).

Love mine. The only real fright was the bill for it`s first 600 hour service:eek::eek::eek:Twin hand throttles are good.easy to alter spool flows, auto pto easy to set. headland management ermm no comment, yours is the newer model and supposed to be easy to set. does seem to hunt a bit when ferting at 11.5 kmh.engine brake makes lots of noise but does not seem to slow tractor on the road much, mine has 540E, 1000, and 1000E pto speeds = ideal.pto shaft is a bit of a barstewart to change and a grit glob of oil spews out( just changing my latest machine to 6 spline then it will not be to change.)Put a Steinbauer box on as I kept it off my previous Case(had the gutless Sizu engine).seems to use very little add blue unless working very hard.

Looks a nice tractor, is it a 4 or 6 pot? what sort of money is it on farm if you dont mind me asking.
That is a 4 cylinder, as for price, don't know yet.

It was a nice machine to use and did all that we asked of it, how ever I have one major reservation though, and that is the use of the stick for direction control.
Pushing the stick forward to make the tractor go forward and pulling it back to stop is fine, but to do the same for reverse just seems counter intuitive, or is it something you just get use to.

Don't own one but drive a few older style 230 and a 160 which is currently back at the dealer after the gearbox gone bang! Personally don't like them not a comfortable place to spend the day and always have back ache after wards

you will either love it or hate it,
we have a maxxum 130, the 145 is the latest.
we like ours alot, could do with bit more power for hilly roadwork though.
engine seems to have plenty go on slurry pump etc,
@Fish I can understand what you mean about using stick in reverse, but it keeps it simple to know where zero is, which makes it very easy to swap between stick and pedal modes.

I drive on the stick in the field plus cruise control, and use the pedal around the yard on trailer work and road work etc, I do know what you mean, when drilling headlands i sometimes get it wrong when revering in the corners.

My 160cvx is bloody good, the stick for shuttle must be new? mine doesn't have it, it still has the old left hand reverse shuttle. But it's the same as combine and sprayer so really ought to be no problem once you get used to it. The two range jumping can be a problem but I understand there's new software ti stop it, so on s new machine shouldn't be a problem.
I absolutely love my puma, it's a hell of a tractor.

Ive just had my second cvx. Really like it new software for headland management is far superior never used it on old tractor but now it's so easy to set up. Never really found surging a problem if mine start to do it just set the target speed at about 12k and would hold in low anyway. We've had 5 Pumas now liked all of them our 09 tractors just passed 10,000 hours never been touched.

New software allows you to hold the tractor in gear one.
This prevents the tractor from surging and constantly trying to change ranges at that one speed.
that's what I've wanted on our 160cvx since we got it, current software holds low longer, which helps if working around that speed, but causes a flat spot when accelerating.
what is latest sofware for an old style roof 160?

its odd tho, the maxxum 130 is alot better at the clutch change speed, hardly notice it unless under alot of load

I think they mean using the stick to control speed when in reverse, ie when using multi controller shuttle buttons,
our puma required the front button to allow the shuttle buttons, the maxxum didn't,
dealer put laptop on and neither need the front button now, but the puma defaults to 1 on transmission sensitivity with the current software, its a pest, reckon it need different setting with laptop?
or maybe @cosmagedon will know the what to change in the h menu?
