Just a quick update I finally got round to having a look at this tractor properly. As some of you may know I tried a friends compensator on the tractor and it worked perfect so I knew the compensator was the problem. So I got the service bulletin that richard sent me and went thru it step by step and I discovered a little piece of rubber in an orifice which would prevent the system from delivering both max flow and max pressure. I put the valve back on the tractor and it's working perfectly.

Thanks, are you saying it might not be the compensator valve? It sticks sometimes when the spool pressure is maxxed. Operating the 3pt linkage or brakes always kicks it back out.

Probably not. Might be easier/cheaper to find a whole new pump assy. with the compensator fitted.

Have you gone down the path of stripping it to check for any foreign matter etc as per posts above?
