Dodgy thermostat? Not bleeding air out of the head when you fill it up due to small pilot hole in stat blocked (if there is one). But it must have opened or it would have overheated when you worked it hard. I'd check the stat as it's an easy check though.

So most likely head gasket or a crack. A build up of gases till it forces the water out.

Could it be poor circulation of water in the block due to a build up of sediment leading to localised steam production which forces the water out or water pump rotor come loose?

I have the same problem on a Kubota Kx71. Head skimmed and pressure tested, new gasket. New water pump, new stat. Warm it up, then it blows the water out of the expansion tank. Fitted a cover over the battery to keep the coolant off it, made sure the level never drops below minimum, and cracked on. If it's a cracked head, block or cylinder then I'll live with it till it goes big style.

Could do with Gapples seeing this thread!

I've seen it but at all sure of an answer, others have pretty covered most things already !
As water pump hasn't been done yet it's worth a look, just in case the impeller has come loose, I have seen this happen before.
Also although the radiator has been replaced, is it the correct rad that's now fitted ?
Air locking is a possibility, recheck that stat.& Check the cab heater is circulating ok.

Hi there, I’m sorry for barging I’m on a post but I cannot find where to put new posts or threads, I have a query about a case 885 that the lift is very slow to go down even when loaded with a bale of silage. Everything else seems to be working fine. Some pointers or even where to post a thread would be great. Thanks and again sorry for barging in.

IF it's not external linkage, the likes of auto hitch arms sticking, then it's almost certainly the drop response valve at fault.
Take out the seat & panels, there's a small plate on the hydraulic top cover, take that off & move the lift arm levers, see if the main draft spool is moving in & out ok.
But if it's drop response valve it's a strip down job to replace.

We had it on the muck spreader again yesterday ran for about four hours no problem. We dropped the spreader off and then took it back to yard this is a stop start journey with many gates to open - again fine until idling at the last gate when the water poured out the over flow.

Thanks to you all for thoughts. I'll hopefully get around to following up your suggestions soon and keep you posted!

So its ok if the engine is running at a good speed, points to a lack luster water pump to me.
