Just on with replacing the pipe to heater plug and noticed it has a flow arrow on it, if I put it towards the plug will it not carry on putting diesel into manifold and fill the sump with diesel eventually?

not sure...but heater plugs on 885xls used jam open and fill sump regularly....cleaned engine i suppose

Just don't see why the pipe has a 1 way valve on it

Heater plug has a solenoid shut-off inside it which should only open when heating

Its to stop the fuel draining back to the tank when engine is stopped
