Anybody got one or have an opinion on the Optum. Looks like a lot of tractor for the money and seems to hold its value well. Not heard much about them and was interested.

I demoed one last summer with a Torro 8010. It was a brutal combination, went down the swaths in 25 km/h. Seemed like it had loads of power, and it was a really comfy ride! I am used to the not so spacious cab of the real CVXs so I dont think the cab on the Optum was that small, but there sure is room to put a bigger cab on it. I liked the upgrades of the transmission software, although there still needs to better control when you reduce speed. At least if you compare to the Fendt style of controlling the transmission.

Overall I thought it seemed like a really nice tractor and very good value for money! And last but not least it might as well be the most good looking tractor around!

I think it's bit odd that they are marketed as a lightweight tractor, while weighing 11 tonnes.
Maybe light compared to a magnum but not plenty lighter tractors around.

Fair enough but they are not marketed as such. 6250r are only about 15 hp less at max. rated and weigh in at a bit under 9.5 tonnes. Still not quite lightweight in my book though.
Just had a quick peek and the optum is only 500 kg lighter then a magnum. I guess that has some more gadgets but come on.
Not quite as idiotic as the second gen. claas axions but come on. Yeah, tractors are heavier but don't be a dick and say they are light as a feather when the next one up is only a wee bit heavier.
Rant over.

Well for a 300hp tractor the ideal weight for light duties would be 35kg/hp = 10,500kg. For heavy work 55kg/hp is reccomended = 16,500kg. I believe the optum can be ballasted up to 16,000kg. Dont forget the 6250r is a smaller tractor (250hp) and weighs 35kg/hp also at that weight which is ideal.

Had the blue version on demo and was impressed with how it pulled, but build quality was shocking, for a new tractor it rattled and squeaked and the cab did feel small with no room at the sides or behind the seat
