Why do they call them Bottom ploughs and not conventional,,doesn't matter if its steam or diesel , its always a bottom plough pulled by ???

Bottom is the American term for a furrow as in 3 furrow plough is a 3 bottom plough in the US.
this also separates them from disc ploughs
