Looking at a 2008 model with 3500hrs. We demoed one a few year ago was a nice thing to drive. How are they for reliability? Anyone here owned one for long? Theres none around here so don't no much about them really.

Try to find out if it's an ex hire tractor. If it is then I would stay clear.

We had 2 on yearly hire, think we had them swopped about 5/6 times over the course of the hire agreement.

There was just little things up with them, sensors and error codes. ECU burnt out on one

My ex demo Puma is in dry dock with 280hrs on, not a problem to stop it being used but not as should be, of course, it is not possible to do what it is doing, naturally.:)

At the moment we're running 2 Mccormicks, a 2005 xtx 185 with a loader and a 2006 xtx 200. They only do 600-700hrs a year so cant really justify anything too shiny. We've had plenty problems with them, gearbox failures at the beginning but mccormick were good on their warrenty with both tractors updated to stronger gearbox design. After that we havn't had any more catastrophic failures, just lots of electrical things, more so on the 200. It is a rare moment that they are both running with zero fault codes. Front axle on the 185 is a real pain.

So its getting about time to think about something else but i don't really want another machine i have to spend as much time fixing as driving. The puma would replace one of the mccormicks but not sure which yet, will depend how much we can get for them. This is the puma i'm looking at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Case-195-...K_BOI_FarmingEquipment_RL&hash=item3f3fe87112 It is just the right spec, loader brackets, front link and pto so could likely replace both mccormicks. we only need 2 because one is always in the workshop!
