Case puma cab knocking

Got a sporadic knocking noise coming from the steering column area of the cab. It’s difficult to pin point because you need to be moving to get it going. I know it’s not the handle that moves the steeering wheel up and down. Any ideas before I start taking things apart.

they wouldn’t be central though would they? And it’s definitely in the cab.

I know of 3 case tractors that had bolts fail in the cab mounts,mine hasn’t done it though.

I’d certainly check the cab mounts 1st.

My old 155 had a knocking, drove me nuts as I couldn’t find it, ended up taking a punt on a cab mount even though dealership said nothing wrong with them, wasn’t difficult to change and no more knocking!!! don’t ask me the cost, it was years ago!

We had bolts break on t7210 same a puma

Defo check cab mountings, my T6 had that issue twice

A pop can or something else metal/heavy rolling around in the storage bin in front of the steering wheel

Look fine to me and nothing appears loose and they look in tact.

I think this is definitely inside the front column.

50k bearing on the prop on way out? Not saying I don’t believe you, but knocks and thumps are usually mechanical and not from the interior trim.

It’s probably worse over uneven ground

Look fine to me and nothing appears loose and they look in tact.

I think this is definitely inside the front column.

They will look fine and tight,dealer tightened mine up with a socket and 6ft bar to get them tight enough

+1 check cab mounts. Some knocks and noises can always be quite deceiving about where they are coming from, you think it's from one place but the way the sound travels it ends up actually being somewhere else.

My t7210 used to knock uneven ground it finally got worse and the 2 bolts on the cab mount had broken
the other 2 were loose

on the right hand side behind the exhaust stack you can look and see 2 bolts look ok but the ones hidden can be loose 4 in all

This, seen it many times also check the bushes at the front and on the suspension shockers and panhard rod at the back. The shocker bushes are bad for packing in

My T7 had a terrible squeak coming from cab on bumpy going. Will have to check all the cab mounts.
