I’m looking at buying a 240 as above and just wondering how people have found the reliability. The tractor is 4 years old 3000 hrs. I have tried it out and cannot find anything massively wrong with it apart from some small issues like suspension not working, front linkage position sensor faulty rubbish radio reception and not brake lights working on the tractor or through the 7 pin socket. Any advice for anything else to look at before I try and close the deal would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance ben.

Can't help you really as our 2019 tractor has got to nearly 3000 hrs without to much drama, senser thingy on exhaust emissions played up which put it into limp mode when she was drilling, but put right first thing next morning.
The bit that scared me was when I looked around the nettles most of our kit needed the 240 rather than the 185 to pull it and if we had down time then drilling timing could go out the window. So rightly or wrongly the 185 which was up for change is being changed for a 2020 plate 240.

We've a 2020 240 CVX which has behaved itself so far. It throws the occasional error code but has only had one issue that needed a call out, which turned out to be a steering angle sensor which was kicking out the GPS. The day the dealer was due to fix it also handily coincided with a leak between the 2 diesel tanks, both faults are a known issue.

Other than that it's been spot on, and pulls like a train.

Only fault I’ve had with mine is the pto,had bother with very aggressive engagement and the pto selection failed, both were sorted under warranty,as posted they pull very well, lent mine my brother last week and he said it just keeps on going, good on diesel and simple to drive compared to a Fendt.

We have had the harsh PTO engagement on our 185 , pain in the arse to get sorted .
we added a 165 to the tractor shed last spring , did go and have a look at a new fergy and also briefly looked at a fendt , but we are happy with the pumas so stuck with them , 240 is a well balanced tractor tho

Well ,🤔🤦🏼‍♀️ Ploughed 18 acre this mornng with it ,
wont be swapping the jd for one ,
dont think it pulled any better than 215 ,
dont like shuttle or the multi controller , and small cramped cab
Yes I know what you mean the cab hasn’t got as much leg room. I don’t mind the multi controller once I’ve got used to it. They are definitely not in the same league as a Deere but for the money I think they are ok.

It's having to use the little dial for the lift/draft that annoys me the most about the case for ploughing

that little dial ❤️ that’s the only bit i liked , far better to hand than roller on side of command armrest . as to rest of tractor would rather drive old 69 deere
but nothing beats the control panel for arms in 3000 series mf the up down switch and dial for adjustment still takes some beating

I never touch dial in an R series with being used to old 7000 series that only have switch .

The dial idea is good but could do with being bigger so it's easier to get gmfine adjustment

Our first and oldest a 230 cvx from 2015 has been faultless really. Really had to scratch my brain and the only thing I can think of was a faulty fuel tank sensor. Just had a new set of tyres and won’t be going anywhere soon. Very good tractors and we swapped away from JD due to the saving which on this tractor was if I’m remembering correctly was £20,000 versus a 6215r and we got full RTK on the 230.

So rightly or wrongly it’s stopping here. Hopefully it will be ok.

Does anybody know if I can make the auto steer engage with a button on the multi controller? There isn’t a book in the cab so I won’t be able to check in there.
