Have tried the NH `s but found the stick awfull to use compared to red one. just my opinion for me.
Pull stick back to go quicker backwardsCorrect me if I'm wrong but surely the NH sidewinder and you pull the stick 'back' it just slows the tractor to eventually a stop. Then if you select reverse and want to speed up you still have to push the stick forward? Or is it like a Massey powershift design and pull back to go faster in reverse?
If your travelling forward and pull NH stick back it slows to a stop then goes backward, so no need to select reverse, but it's alot harder to select zero speed, so not as easy to go between stick and pedal mode and know it's going to stop if you lift foot of pedal.Correct me if I'm wrong but surely the NH sidewinder and you pull the stick 'back' it just slows the tractor to eventually a stop. I use the cruise button a lot on the NH. Even if it’s not in cruise a double click engages then disengages it and puts it to zero.If your travelling forward and pull NH stick back it slows to a stop then goes backward, so no need to select reverse, but it's alot harder to select zero speed, so not as easy to go between stick and pedal mode and know it's going to stop if you lift foot of pedal.
I'm happy selecting reverse on a case and knowing if I pull back fully on the stick when travelling in either direction tractor will come to a stop, with out having to look at screen or feel the zero position!
The cruise button double click sounds like a handy trick!I use the cruise button a lot on the NH. Even if it’s not in cruise a double click engages then disengages it and puts it to zero.
Besides that ours if you pull back will come to a halt. The let go of lever so it centralises and pull back a 2nd time to start going backwards.

Mine is a 4BThere seems to be perhaps confusion between the Teir 4 a and b versions?? I’ve only limited use on a demo years ago (2016) and remember it being pull back to stop, and another pull back for reverse as you say.
Boll-ocks its dead easy! Could throw anyone on mine and get them going within seconds. Not saying that it's impossible to operate them, but New Holland control logic and button/switch layout was obviously devised by a deformed masochist recently released from a lunatic asylum
Only thing if you had a agco vario go the replacement unit would have been factory rebuild instead of the local dealers which surely would be a better jobI find mine sluggish switching from forward to reverse compared to the Valtra and john deeres I've used but than that its a fine! can be very twitchy at low speeds too if you don't limit the pedal travel. A full rebuild including new brakes, a clutch pack and some niggly wiring issues sorting cost me £8300 this spring which was bloody painful but as vario rebuilds go I didn't think it was too bad.

I would like front links connected to slip control. Be ideal for front press when drilling to get a bit of weight transfer back on the tractor. What exactly did you find troublesome? It’s so easy, the only thing I’d like is PTO on/off on the joystick too.

I wouldn’t say £5k was cheepOwn design, very user friendly, cheap to sort when they go wrong.l Keep the software up to date and it will be grand
Hills I leave it in cruise and if it’s revving too much I just turn the droop down a bit.I've only just started using our AC, that's a handy trick to know. Out of interest, how do you tackle hills with a heavy load behind? Also will the cruise trick work after letting off the exhaust brake? I've had a couple of hairy moments where it accelerates to the previous speed setting
Cheaper than a powershit or semi powershitI wouldn’t say £5k was cheep
Still £5 k is not cheepCheaper than a powershit or semi powershit
It’s all relative. Compared to a postage stamp, no, compared to a space shuttle, yes!Still £5 k is not cheep
