Need to change my 6930 jd, and really like the look of the case Puma. Never been a case man before, but they seem good value and a nice size tractor.

how do people get on with case and especially the cvx transmission. and anything to keep in mind especially if ordering new?

We have a Jd 6630 Standard and in 2018 bought a Maxxum 135 Cvx. We find it very nice to drive and easy to use. But in all fairness all the Cvt/Ivt tractors we've tried are nice to drive. Cases lack of dashboard is nice, since the dash is replaced by a big cubby that gets cold with the climate control (since there wasn't an option to get Maxxum with a fridge).

We had a Puma 160 Cvx on demo in 2016 and we also liked it. Make sure you'll get the Puma with the 4 pack transmission (then it was available from Puma 170 upwards), since it finds the best range more easily.

Ps. Get the Platinum exterior pack, if you like black. The interior pack has a red leather seat, which i don't recommend.

We have a case 160 cvx. 13 plate with 6000hrs. Only problems have been adblue..... mainly because we use it for light duties so we did a remap.the other problem is a few oil leaks on the rear filter housing as they are all plastic... however very nice tractor.

Got a puma 200 powershift and a new holland t6.160 auto command. They are both simple to use. They are tractors that anyone can jump on and drive, but also someone of experience can set up and automate.

Just spoke to a driver of my local contractor, driving a puma 185 cvx (LWB puma that is). Now at 10k hours, practically nothing problemwise except normal wear and tear. I thought that was quite impressive, as they have some deeres aswell that are doing well, but not "no problems at 10k hours" well.
Spec it on bigger tyres, the smaller ones are standard on something like 580/70R38 which is the same height as 650/65R38 but they all fit 42 inch. That same contractor has a 175 (SWB) puma on 710/70R38 and 600/65R28, looks the dogs danglies. If the bar axles are bigger then normal ones you might want to spec those if you are on twin tyres alot.
Maybe a higher spec seat, something like a grammer maximo dynamic. I always thought the swb puma's are a little bit shifty on the road without load.
Exhaust brake might save the brakes a bit, as they are pants.
Last but not least, a clock. Maybe with the tv screen on the armrest they have a clock, but without they don't which is just stupid.

All Cvx's have the screen. I'm pretty sure that there's a clock also in the pillar display.

Nope, neighbour has a year old puma 175 cvx without the screen and his older 185 cvx doesn't have it either. I used to work for a farmer that has a lwb cvx without the screen as well.

I was also led to believe all CVX had the screen, like the new Holland Autocommand does. Surely there’s too much gearbox stuff to configure and set up without the screen??

Must be a dealer thing then. No Cvx Puma/Maxxum or AC Nh has been brought to Finland (new) without the screen.

You can set it all up through the A pillar screens, it's a bit fiddly but easy enough, means you can get a 'basic' Vario if you don't want to spend the £££ extra on a screen
