case skidsteer oil

mates got an old 1840 case skidsteer, hyd/trans oil it says in book 10/30 with a hto additive, local garage says its a case only thing, what are people using? is there alternatives?

There's nothing unique about Case skid steer loaders. I don't have one but do have a couple of NH skid steers. I have used and service refilled the hydraulics/hydro and chain sumps with UTTO or 10/30 Super Universal for many years and for a combined 13,000 hours now with no issues whatsoever.

We've used 10/30 super universal in our 1840 for years. We used to put the hto additive but was told about ten years ago by a Case dealer that the modern 10/30 super universal is all it needs.
