Almost a week gone by, we've had a couple of wet days.. Everything is looking better for it.

Looks fine to me @Chae1 never bothered putting some in after Sb as was worried how they’d do. Ones which were sown mid July look great. Too good a strike at 2kg/ac. Can’t tell the difference just now even where sown at 1.4kg/ac. Just starting to bulb up and they’re far better in thinner bits at the minute.

Going to give some of them aanother 125kg/ha of 34.5N tomorrow.

Wonder if SU could still be working and holding them back there's been so little rain?

Will get some pictures tomorrow.
We had that last year ,so ploughed one field ,which has been sown ,and rest just cultivated seed blown on and pressed and rolled

A neighbour's 36m Kuhn AGT pneumatic fertiliser spreader. Establishment wasn't great in places in the dry weather but a layer of chopped straw over the top helped. It didn't do so well where the straw was baled.

Thanks @Brisel i like using cover crops and with the sheep on the farm they work well for us! But I think to get the best cover they need to in by mid Aug. Not always possible so been thinking of doing something similar!

Normally it’s 5kg drilled 8 kg broadcast but that’s not going to get very tall now so go higher. For more biomass you need to add a grass or cereal to bulk it up.

Is it too late to put some mustard and tillage radish this next week ,have had chance to marl a very sandy field while it’s dry to dig and run on ,dozer levelling next Wednesday and can cultivate and seed it next day
Where does the marl come from? Interested to see pictures not heard of this being done in modern times.
