Cattle drag trailer on tractor

I have the chance to buy a cattle lorry drag trailer,2 axle Inc dolly. Does anyone have any experience towing one behind a tractor? Tractor has air.

Is your tractor new enough to be included in the Mother Regs ?
If it is...great.
If not, you may struggle with the brakes on the drag being far too powerful to be manageable.

I tried a modern tri axle drag behind my pre mother regs Puma and mates John Deere 6930, and the drag brakes were so powerful just the pilot pressure was enough to lock all 6 trailer wheels at any speed!

It's a 2016 puma , never heard of mother regs to be honest. I'm sure if the brakes were too sharp I could adjust them anyway. This cattle trailer is the type with axel front and rear

Speaking of regulations,I have a friend who bought a new 50k landini in 2020,but it doesn't have air , I thought by law it needed to have it

Pre mother regs then. They kicked in Jan 2018 If I remember correctly.
In essence, it is a suite of increased standards to increase road safety, including better mirrors and changes to standards for trailer braking.
Mother Regs tractors changed to match Hgv standards for the pressures and pressure curves required to operate trailer brakes. When matched correctly, you should have the same or better brakes whilst requiring a lot less air pressure to do so.
