Hi folks,
Haven't abandoned my other cattle thread, just letting it simmer for the moment
Had vet here a few days ago on another errand got talking about cattle handling facilities.
Her take on it (they also farm cattle & sheep) crush long enough to facilitate a calving jack just in case, good lighting for any night time work, near or in a building.
I believe (without having checked) the requirements here to own cattle are to have a pen, a crush, and a building capable of isolating a sick or injured animal, so simple enough.
Simple is how I'd like to keep this, functional, practical, and safe.
Will be dealing with upland beasties, less handled than many other herds. Jumping and arse over head tantrums may be an issue?
I'd appreciate photos and dimensions of set ups that would fit the practical, functional, and safe roles.
Thanks very much
