Cattle in a tb risk area and the implications.

Can anyone give their experience and pointers in what to expect, the rules and regs regarding buying 5 cattle or so.

We are on the Derbyshire/ South Yorks border and it's a high risk area for tb.

What restrictions, testing periods, from testing to selling times etc would we be looking at. I've heard we only would have 30 days from test to be able to sell and move them. Is this true and if so what else would make like more awkward than it needs to be? Only want a few at a time.

Any helps much appreciated.
Thanks

Looking at buying at calves and rearing to fat but depends on what prices are to what we buy at market or from another farmer.

60 days from jab day could mean a very narrow window to get them sold andmoved off farm. How often would they be due for testing?

As long as you rear to fat and sell direct to Abbatoir or red market you won't have to worry about testing before they leave the farm. You will be on yearly testing until you have a reactor then you will have to test every 60-90 days until you have 2 clear tests
