Can you sign cattle passports on behalf of the registered keeper?

Got someone coming to collect a load of cattle they’ve bought off my dad but he’s had an accident and ended up in hospital, so I’m trying to sort out the passports having never dealt with it before

In that instance I would say absolutely. Just make your name clear

Yep as long as your involved In their management it should be fine, just remember to keep a record of the tag numbers and either move them off on line or phone BCMS

Passport should have your barcode sticker attached and you just fill in the 'date off' and sign. Report movement to BCMS within a few days. Hopefully you will know how to report on-line, but if not you can phone them.
Make sure the cattle have two tags each before they go, so check well in advance in case you need to order some duplicates.
