Cattle- the cause or the cure?

What is glaringly obvious to thankfully most people is that cattle are natural, they are part of the ecosystem and have been around in varying numbers for a very long time! How on earth is it even comprehensible that they are ruining the planet? Especially when it is people from the most developed, industrialised and wealthiest parts of the world who are accusing them? It is like standing on someone's neck while accusing clouds in the sky for trying to kill them.
It is deception of the highest order.

Totally agree.
Why on earth are people spending gazillions trying to develop technology that sucks CO2 from the atmosphere and put it in the earth, when plants have already evolved to do that, what's more, by using solar energy.
Why on earth are other people spending gazillions trying to develop technology to convert plant carbohydrates into high quality protein, when animals, especially ruminants, evolved to do just that.
The world is quite simple, why try to overcomplicate it?

Can't believe I am posting this , but even Russell Brand has picked up on the the root causes of the Indian Farmers uprising, and possibly some global ag issues too
I was about to post that video in here. I used to think Brand was another unfunny, but he is very thoughtful and thought provoking. Youtube version of your vid:

"Mr Gates, who has invested in range of ‘synthetic meat’ startups including Impossible Foods, Beyond Meat, Memphis Meats and Hampton Creek Foods"
"After initial market hype, plant based ‘fake meat’ brands have run into headwinds in recent times including stock rating downgrades, price discounting to lift sales, and law suits over food safety standards. "
https://www.beefcentral.com/news/sy...or-rich-countries-to-eat-only-synthetic-meat/

You'd think Gates (~$130B in wealth), and co, had enough money, but they still want more wealth and power.

Dan Neef, one of the company's senior scientists, said: "It is a gamechanger - cows are a huge problem, they put an enormous amount of methane into the atmosphere, and what people don't appreciate is methane is so much more powerful than carbon dioxide even as a global warming gas."

If you're on here, Mr Neef of Mootral, you can shove your feed additive where the sun don't shine. Any farmer who buys your product is a traitor to the industry.

I mean, fair play to them. They're gonna make money from sale of a product that there is absolutely no need for, and then also make money from gullible fools who rightly have a large carbon footprint and want to greenwash their businesses. Genius. Gotta admire them for that.

I'd love to know how it affects the efficiency of feed use though, I doubt it has anything other than a detrimental effect, indeed they say it reduces bacteria in the story. That's a step forward?

So he's wanting farmers to buy carbon credits by buying the feed? I'm confused. Or people invest in his company?

I'm assuming it will be the likes of Bill Gates, Ryanair, Bitcoin pushers, etc that will be interested in buying the carbon credits. Any farmers buying it will be doing so "thinking" they're reducing their carbon footprint, whilst demonstrating that they don't understand methane. This is dangerous.

So if he manages to sell X amount tons of this feed he can sell X amount of carbon credits to to55ers?

You got it.
Wrong to be cynical though, the NFU believe that carbon trading is the future so it clearly has massive benefits for us all.,
I'm all for carbon trading to make me money, but it's got to be based on proper science (which correctly understands the carbon cycle) and not the embarrassing fag packet sleight of hand involving trees etc it seems to be based on. And as long as individuals have to buy tax credits and not just companies. It'll never happen though, voters won't vote for that though so companies it is. But they can happily send money my way if it makes them feel better.

to many people and more everyday is that the real problem ?

Of course it is. There are way too many of us.

If humans all died tomorrow the planet would still turn, day would bring night and the rest of Planet Earth would, in the long run, be better off.

Plus, no other creature on Earth has the mental capacity to worry about what might happen anyway.
