If the cow trailer is only ever used on the tractor then I would bite the bullet and get the drawbar on the trailer altered.
Tractors will only get bigger not smaller .

Take it you mean an i for Williams type rather than a larger one on a bale type trailer.
Answer is a frame on the link arms with a ball hitch on, they can be bought allthough only place I’ve ever seen them is p v Dobson

I take it a drop bar would be a draw bar with a crank in it, like the old MF 500 series were

This looks stronger built
Add a 3.5t ball. Never found and ball hitch for a tractor drawbar that's rated for 3.5t

At least that frame looks strong enough for the job (with a stronger ball), whereas most of them don’t look safe enough to stick a full trailer on behind.

To get the height right on my JD hitch, and so the drawbar could be locked in place, I made an extension piece from a bit of heavy box section that slips over the end of the drawbar. Drilled holes in the box to drop a drawbar pin through the hitch, then a 3.5t ball at the right height on the other end.
It cost a new ball and some scrap metal off the heap.

I've heard of someone else do like that. One thing with that frame I don't like is where the ball is bolted the plate is only welded to the box on one side

Just in auction now, this looks to be favourable option! Have you a picture of yours?

I dragged it out from under the bench for you. A bit rough and ready, knocked up from some scrap in a hurry several years ago....

I’ve seen it done with A foot of channel iron with holes for the towing ball drilled at different heights and brackets welded on so it will slot into drawbar snuggly and just drop down the pin

I’ve same problem with my tractors now so we’ve an A-frame with a ball hitch on now,it’s a bit heavy built to lift on but you can set the trailer height and also lift the front for washing out.

I did consider getting a Dixon Bates adjustable hitch and putting it on the drawbar but difference in drawbar makes it hard work.

i got one that fits the 3 point hitch , pushes the trailer further back as you are short of room for turning tight if you have large tyres on your tractor , works well leveling up your trailer and better then a ball through the drawbar which all ways slacken the nut down to the lynch pin and damage the treads of your ball .

I just turned my draw bar upside down
Oh and put a decent bolt in threw the 2 nuts as the hitch is nearer the ground don’t trust them R clips doesn’t take much to knock them out
